White vinegar has been used for cleaning for many years and is so effective. It is completely non-toxic, biodegradable and has multitude of uses. The best part is it is inexpensive and readily available.
White vinegar is fantastic degreaser and works greta on hobs in the kitchen. It is also a great disinfectant and deodoriser (I use vinegar to remove smells from old jars to reuse them). Soap scum is notoriously hard to remove but vinegar works great on limescale too and helps to remove any nasty stains. I make a simple window/glass cleaner with vinegar and it is great at leaving a streak free shine.
If your not keen on the smell then why not add some citrus peels or essential oils to help dilute the strong vinegar scent, I tend to add Lime essential oil to mine.
WARNING: DO NOT use vinegar on marble or stone surfaces or floors as the acid attacks the natural porous stone. DO NOT use alongside any bleaching agent as when mixed they create a toxic gas.
