Citric acid is a naturally occurring acid from citrus fruits, however this product is a synthetic version made from the process of fermenting sugars. Citric acid is a highly effective disinfectant and has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties too. It is completely non toxic and biodegradable.
How do I use it?
Add 2 tbsp to a 500ml spray bottle, dissolve in warm water and add citrus essential oils to make a great bathroom and kitchen cleaner. Use it neat to make recipes for toilet fizz and dishwasher powder or to tackle limescale.
Where can I use this around my home?
- in baths and shower doors/screens to remove soap scum
- use on blocked or slow running drains
- toilet cleaner (look out for the toilet fizz recipe)
- as dishwasher powder and rinse aid
- to descale the kettle
- use as an alternative in vinegar based cleaning recipes
DO NOT USE ON MARBLE AND STONE SURFACES OR BRASS TAPS.
